This course is primarily concerned with two concepts and that is developmental biology and molecular biology. The two main goals of the course are to teach you about the process of learning and to learn about the fundamentals of those processes. Students who pass this course will be well prepared to take their formal college biology exams, should they be required.
The course can also be used to satisfy your requirement for a biology course that does not require formal college entry level biology courses. As well as having the foundation in theory, students can take the courses for practical purposes. Students will learn how to use those topics in many ways to satisfy the ever-growing needs for their study. In addition to being able to answer basic questions about these fields, students will be taught how to express their thoughts about their study in a manner that will be useful to others. They will be able to set objectives and present their plans for reaching those objectives, in order to motivate themselves. The course includes the fundamentals of biology, which will be required in order to have a basic science background. Students will learn all of the basics about the human body, the animal kingdom, cells, development, metabolism, genetics, cell differentiation, and gene duplication. All of these topics are usually taught in high school biology classes. The course contains fundamental concepts about each of these areas that may be new to you. Students will be able to put them to use by applying them to a variety of situations, using examples from their daily lives. The course makes use of some materials and software that are regularly used in high school biology classes. The instructor will be there to guide you through the process of understanding these concepts and finding out how to use them. The final paper of the course is a synthesis of all of the information learned in the semester. The class is taught in a small classroom setting, so that all of the students can participate in the discussion. At the end of the semester, the student will get a grade from the instructor based on the activities that he or she did in the course. A paper Two will be sent to the professor's office, so that the professor can see how well you have learned the material.
